We are in an accelerated growth phase and looking for highly motivated accomplished and driven Embedded Software Engineer Manager to join our growing team. As a part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and products, from conception to deployment.
The perfect candidate is expected to be very hands-on but also able to lead a strong development team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a global engineering team.
  • Define, implement, and oversee development processes to ensure high-quality and on-time product delivery.
  • Set standards for code quality, reliability, and maintenance.
  • Conduct design and code reviews.
  • Partner with product managers and technical program managers to set development priorities and manage project scopes.
  • Represent the engineering team in customer engagements, gather and analyze customer requirements, and drive solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field. MS/PhD degrees are preferred.
  • 10 years of hands-on software development experience with a strong foundation in system architecture and clean code.
  • 5+ years of experience building and managing a software development team
  • 2 years of experience managing first-line managers.
  • Experience in managing engineers located in multiple countries.
  • Excel in managing multiple parallel projects.
  • Experience in C++ and Python.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

😍 Our Ideal Profile (what we pay attention to)

  • 5+ years of experience building and managing a software development team, with a minimum of 2 years of experience managing first-line managers.
  • A candidate currently managing a team or teams developing device-based applications in the automotive, IoT, or networking domains. Experience with building and managing development teams in a startup would be a huge plus.
  • Experience in developing C/C++ applications on embedded Linux, Android, or similar systems. But hands-on coding is not a requirement.

Salary: €120,000 – €162,000 a year

* The above salary range is a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate of what Sonatus (“Company”) could reasonably expect to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The Company reserves the right to modify this range in the future, as needed, as market conditions change.

  • Team: up to 7-8 people  (currently there are mainly Senior devs, but in the future, the company is planning to hire different levels)
  • Team’s location – Ireland and Poland
  • Hybrid work, 2 days a week in the office in the centre of Dublin (Monday and Thursday)
