About Opyn

Opyn is a capital efficient DeFi options protocol that allows users to buy, sell, and create options on ERC20s. For developers, Opyn is the most flexible and secure options protocol in DeFi. The name Opyn comes from our mission to empower people through a more inclusive, fair, open, financial system.

Opyn was created in 2019 by three friends obsessed with crypto and DeFi. Since then, we’ve shipped two versions and the team has grown to thirteen across six continents. Opyn was the first protocol to bring options, spreads, and partial collateralization to DeFi. What started as a few users has turned into a community that has collectively traded more than $1.3 billion of options across 27,000+ trades and we’re just getting started. We have a roadmap to scale up from 105m+ TVL through financial innovation, new products, and Opyn’s protocol architecture.

Position Summary

We are looking for someone to help us securely and quickly build complex financial systems like Monitoring systems and complex financial bots supporting our smart contracts. You will work on improving and leading good development practices for all our bots and servers and also work on setting up access controls and key management. You will lead spec processes and build backend code, review PRs for backend systems.

Stack: C++, C, Solidity, Rust

Salary: $120,000 – 150,000 per year

Required Experience And Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in Blockchain
  • Has knowledge and passion about crypto applications / Ethereum, preferably DeFi
  • Has strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Has strong backend and server experience
  • Has previous experience in the crypto space
  • Willing to learn and keep up with new tools that make them a 100x engineer
  • Willing to do anything it takes to solve problems and delight users
  • Is a self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment driving tangible business results
  • Upholds best practices in engineering, security, and design

Ideal Candidate Will Also Have

  • Project management experience, leading product development Sprints & Standups
  • Security and audit experience
  • Self starter with ability to quickly learn how to work with services and tools even without previous experience
  • Is a team player – cares about helping others in the team grow
  • Solid English writing and verbal communication skills (upper-intermediate and higher)
  • Contributes a unique set of experiences and perspectives to solving problems
  • Has growth mindset

Nice to have

  • Is a DeFi user
  • Experience with security (smart contract security, frontend security etc.)
  • Finance and options trading knowledge
  • Experience with ClickUp as a project management and resource capacity planning tool
