At Standard Bots, we design robots that create a safer, more productive manufacturing environment for the people who use them. By automating many of the most common tasks in manufacturing, our RO1 robot saves time and effort for operators that they can use to focus on higher-impact tasks and processes.

Today, the robot is skilled in machine tending, pick-and-place, case packing, sanding, polishing, palletizing, inspection, debarring, welding and painting.

In the future, the robot will help in commercial dishwashing & fast food, massages, everyday tasks in the home and aiding the elderly.

👨‍💻 Who you are

We are seeking an experienced, self-driven, optimistic, creative, and resourceful Middle to Senior General QA Engineer with fluent English to join our distributed team.

The ideal candidate is a proactive individual with a deep understanding of QA methodologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for automation. Hardware QA experience isn’t required

❗️Requirements

● 5+ years of web and mobile QA experience + experience with Cypress, TypeScript
● Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
● Previous experience taking ownership of validating features/functionality and certifying projects
end-to-end with high quality
● Experience with API and automation testing tools and assuring best practices
● Experience in one or more defect tracking and test management tools

● Experience working in Agile/Scrum development process
● Experience working in a rapidly moving startup environment with dynamic objectives
● Must have strong written and verbal communication skills + Fluent English
● Leadership experience will be a plus
● Willingness to get heavily involved in QA Automation

 

⚙️ Responsibilities

● Collaborate with product owners and developers to define requirements and priorities;
● Verify proper implementation of features against design specifications;
● Design, write, and execute test cases during all phases of product development;
● Perform manual testing when necessary to supplement automated tests;
● Proactively identify areas for test automation and work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize
automation efforts;
● Support and extend existing end-to-end automation solution (Cypress + TypeScript);
● Identify, analyze, and report software defects, providing clear and concise documentation for issue
tracking and resolution;
● Escalate risks and blocking issues as soon as they are uncovered;
● Monitor and report on key quality metrics, including test coverage, test execution progress, and defect
trends, to drive continuous improvement efforts;
● Stay updated with the latest tools, techniques, and trends in software testing and automation, and apply
them to improve our testing practices;
● Provide guidance and support to more junior team members.

➕ Systems Under Test

  • “Remote Control”: Our full stack (React) web application which powers the robot, this can be tested using a simulator or the real robot itself
  • iPad app: Our iPad app facilitates easy setup of the robot and gives users access to the “Remote Control”
  • Robot integrations and real world behavior: Our robot is comprised of both software and hardware. Our QA team tests both the functionality of the software, as well as how the robot interacts with external integrations and the physical world
  • Deploy Infrastructure and Monitoring Systems: Our robot’s software and firmware is managed by an internal tool which the QA team will test to ensure functionality
  • QA role will target both simulated as well as “real” versions of the robot. This will include writing tests and manually testing robots over remote camera feeds as well as working with QA counterparts in New York.
