Project Description
The EDP team is building an internal platform for Elia Group software product developers to accelerate the
development and delivery of software products to tackle the massive challenges facing the energy sector. The
EDP Platform is a service oriented, cloud-native platform that is being built to provide application teams with
self-service capabilities to develop, run and operate their software products. EDP Platform provides services for
application infrastructure, data, service lifecycle management, application build and delivery as well as services
to operate their software products. The EDP Platform is deployed as a hybrid cloud, encompassing both private
cloud and select public clouds.
We are looking for talented, experienced, and motivated individuals in the following role to join the EDP team
to take EDP to its next level.
Position Description
The Public Cloud team within the EDP project organization is responsible for developing a platform that runs the
workloads of customers and the other project teams. Current focus is on Google Cloud, one of the next steps is
adding support for Microsoft Azure.
The QA Engineer of the team will be responsible for all test-related activities in the team. This includes EDP test
strategy implementation, test case definition and management, test execution, test data, test automation, and
test documentation.
The QA Engineer will actively align his activities with the QA engineers in the other teams and on EDP project
level. This role reports to the head of the Public Cloud team.
Profile Requirements
The individual must be self-dependent QA Engineer on senior level, with the proven ability to structure and set
up testing from scratch. Active liaising with project stakeholders and team members from own and other teams
is essential.
Must-have competencies / skills (must have unless otherwise noted)
- Deep understanding of different types (functional, regression, security, availability, etc) and levels
(component, integration, e2e) of testing - Proven experience in setting up and structuring test activities
- Proven experience in a public cloud environment, good knowledge of the most important public cloud
services (networking, kubernetes engine, cloud storage, billing, IAM) - Good knowledge of network services and protocols (e.g. DNS, BGP)
- Proven experience in test automation with pytest
- Experience with testing RESTful APIs
Preferred competencies / skills (should have unless otherwise noted)
- QA-related certification on professional level, e.g. ISTQB advanced
- First experience as a team lead, for the case that the Public Cloud team requires additional testers
- Experience with testing cloud-based platforms (PaaS)
- Experience with testing infrastructure in an automated way
- Experience with TestRail
