Lucid Sight is a game developer based out of Los Angeles California that focuses on frontier gaming and its supporting technologies.
Lucid Sight is the developer of Colyseus, a cloud solution for the democratization of multiplayer game development. Launched this year, Colyseus Arena has helped game developers of all sizes host and scale their multiplayer experiences.
Lucid Sight is looking for Node.js Engineer to join expanding team to help grow, support, develop and prototype the next generation of multiplayer hosting technology. This engineer would work closely with the senior developers & CTO to help shape the development efforts on the Colyseus Arena platform while supporting our clients as they build on the Arena system.
Responsibilities:
– Implement solutions to improve the management, deployment, and efficiency of the Colyseus Arena Platform.
– Analyze bandwidth, CPU usage, and container health of the platform and provide insight and potential improvements.
– Work with our engineering team to establish guidelines and best practices for developing and maintaining the Arena platform.
– Maintain existing Colyseus & Arena codebase and improve/refactor as necessary
– Work with our senior developers to design, implement and deploy new features, such as matchmaking, game analytics, improved load balancing, UDP & other communication protocols.
– Debug/analyze issues on client deployments and provide insight to fix these problems.
– Perform code review and pushing of PRs. As a senior engineer on the team, you will be responsible for code review, final testing, and pushing to live production environments.
– Create/maintain documentation and knowledge base for the Colyseus and Arena system.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
– 4+ years of experience working in multiplayer, API, SaaS or –Backend development or similar role
– Strong ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical clients and/or team members to help debug, evaluate or explain the Colyseus or Arena systems.
