🔥 Standard Bots, which specializes in designing and manufacturing robotic arms for various industries, is seeking an experienced Senior-Lead QA manual to join our team!
The successful candidate will be charged with executing test protocols provided by other teams to validate the performance of hardware and software and to ensure that our robots meet company quality standards required for deployment.

Standard Bots (standardbots.com) is an exciting, high-growth robotics company building revolutionary new products. Founded by serial entrepreneurs and backed by top investors, we design our own firmware, software, PCBAs and mechanical parts to provide the best user experience.

➕ Standard Bots does the releases every two weeks, and has a React web app – QA team does a lot of testing in the browser and tests in the simulator via the web.

🛠 Your responsibilities
- Participate in manual QA on both the software and the hardware of the robot
- Manually verify new features as well as ensure stability via release regression testing
- Work with leadership and QA staff to define and execute on testing strategy for simulated and full robot system testing via automated and manual testing
- Drive decision-making and proactively raise needs and gaps in process or testing
- Execute test protocols provided by other teams to validate the performance of hardware and software
- Direct strategy, coverage, and overall quality
- Guide, coordinate, and lead the QA team (2 people now)
❗️ Systems Under Test
- “Remote Control”: Our full stack (React) web application which powers the robot, this can be tested using a simulator or the real robot itself
- iPad app: Our iPad app facilitates easy setup of the robot and gives users access to the “Remote Control”
- Robot integrations and real world behavior: Our robot is comprised of both software and hardware. Our QA team tests both the functionality of the software, as well as how the robot interacts with external integrations and the physical world
- Deploy Infrastructure and Monitoring Systems: Our robot’s software and firmware is managed by an internal tool which the QA team will test to ensure functionality
🦾 A note on Hardware
Remote QA roles, including the Manual QA Lead role will target both simulated as well as “real” versions of the robot. This will include writing tests and manually testing robots over remote camera feeds as well as working with QA counterparts in New York. As the QA Lead you will work with both remote QA staff as well as our on-site QA technician to ensure our test coverage, processes, and procedures adequately de-risk change and accelerate our team.
