About Relief

Relief is a venture-backed, fully remote, and purpose-driven FinTech startup committed to changing the lives of Americans that are behind on their bills. What makes Relief unique is that our platform offers solutions when individuals have no other option. Our goal is to make financial wellness accessible through education and to provide banking tools for 99% of the population. Because we see credit card debt as the most overwhelming and fastest-growing type of debt, we decided to tackle it first at no charge.

The current system in place for people that are behind on their bills is antiquated and unfair. Making the process psychologically and physiologically taxing for any person. Debt comes in many shapes, sizes, and forms. We understand that everybody has a different financial situation and because of that Relief is building solutions tailored to each individual, as we grow and scale.

Providing people with the information to achieve financial wellness while destigmatizing debt is what we are passionate about. Life is more than just paying your bills. Through collective bargaining, Relief seeks to change the way people overcome financial troubles in the form of debt. By helping Americans eliminate their debt, we can empower them to create educated financial choices and build the means to achieve their dreams.

About The Role

As the first Lead Content Designer at Relief, you’ll join a growing design team that cares deeply about creating simple and intuitive experiences for our customers. In this role, you’ll help create Relief’s brand voice from the ground up. You will build the content framework that creates a personality for Relief. Working with cross-functional team members across design, engineering, and marketing, you’ll be an active leader in solving our business and customers’ challenges to craft seamless flows and content design systems that help people successfully engage with our product and move through our experience with trust and confidence. We’re looking for a content strategist who puts the users first, is obsessively detail-oriented, and cares about the nuances of language and tone.

What You’ll Do

  • Build a framework that scales the content, voice, tone, and content strategy across every user touchpoint. This includes educational and marketing material, notifications, and in-product experiences.
  • Boil down complex concepts into simple, concise, and compelling narratives to enrich the experience of our customers.
  • Create, manage, and own all written content and content strategy.
  • Define a working model that can be replicated as the content team expands.
  • Use data and research to evaluate content’s impact.
  • Collaborate and present to cross-functional teams to make informed decisions and solicit feedback.
  • Lead projects from initial discovery to execution.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in UI/UX-focused writing, content strategy, and/or content design, including work in software, digital agency, documentation, or journalism.
  • Experience across all aspects of the product cycle, including user research, collaborative ideation, writing, prototyping, testing, and optimizing.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional technology organization.
  • A data-driven mindset with experience leveraging quantitative and qualitative data to analyze content.
  • Experience delivering with an agile methodology.
