We are looking for a hardware test engineer who will help us advance our testing environments, evaluate specifications, and debug automotive electronic systems. On a daily basis, you’ll carry out various engineering tasks, such as performing calculations to ensure our systems meet the global safety standards and collaborating with technicians and computer programmers to solve emerging issues.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

    • Bring up, test, and debug automotive electronic systems with both compute and network components, drive issues to closure
    • Evaluate specifications and establish optimum test method & required equipment to complete system function verification and performance characterization.
    • Build hardware set-up and assist in end to end software testing, document and communicate setup, debug procedures and test results with other team members
    • Setup and maintain lab space, tools, and materials of a hardware R&D lab; Responsible for inventory management of prototype devices.

Qualifications and Experience

    • BS or MS in EE/CE or related fields
    • 5+ years of bring up and validation of complex compute and/or network systems
    • Experience with equipment used in lab testing such as power supplies, scopes, network traffic generators (e.g. CANOE, Spirent), JTAG debugger, etc.
    • Able to under hardware schematic, design simple breakout board
    • Some experience in Python or other scripting languages
    • Familiar with Linux or similar operating systems
    • Team player with excellent verbal & written communications skills

Bonus Points

    • Experience with communication networks, including terminologies, configurations, and protocols
    • Experience with bench level repair of hardware
    • Experience with high-speed digital design and signal integrity
    • Experience with developing and executing test plans for complex electronic systems
    • Experience with firmware development
    • Solid understanding of automotive EEA

Estimated Salary Range: $150,000 to $170,000.
