Overview
Massive is looking for a Backend Engineer (Full Stack) to join our fast-growing, fully remote engineering team and build the services that power Massive’s product surfaces.

What is Massive?
Massive is an infrastructure company powering data-driven innovation at scale. We operate a global proxy network, build managed APIs for scraping, and develop AI-powered automation tools for large-scale data collection and processing. Our Monetization SDK is a cross-platform development kit that enables app developers to offer users an alternative payment method—opting in to share small amounts of unused computing resources instead of paying with money or viewing ads. The SDK powers millions of users worldwide across desktop, mobile, and smart TV platforms.
Why Join Us?
- Cutting-Edge Challenges: Build the platform behind a global proxy network — APIs, dashboards, and billing systems that turn raw infrastructure into a product partners use every day.
- Remote-First Culture: Work when and where you’re most productive. All we care about is great result and strong ownership.
- Real Impact: Your work shows up directly in the dashboards partners log into, the APIs they call, and the invoices they receive — features ship fast and reach real users quickly.
- AI-Forward Team: We’re early adopters and active users of LLMs and modern AI tooling — both in how we build and in what we ship.
- Founder-Led & Proven: Backed by serial entrepreneurs and industry veterans with a track record of multiple venture-backed exits.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and maintain Go backend services powering Massive’s customer-facing and internal product surfaces — partner portal, admin dashboard, billing, and the APIs behind them.
- Design and ship REST APIs for both internal consumers (other Massive teams) and external customers (partners and integrators).
- Own features end-to-end — from Postgres schema design and Go implementation to the occasional frontend change (React + TypeScript + Tailwind) when a small dashboard tweak is the right move.
- Evolve the partner portal and admin tooling as new product capabilities ship — multi-tenant org/user management, usage views, and operations workflows.
- Contribute to billing and metering systems — usage tracking, invoicing, and integration with payment infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (product, infrastructure, SDK, data) to design systems that are reliable, observable, and easy to operate.
Who We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer building production services.
- Solid command of Go — idiomatic concurrency, testing, and the standard library.
- Active user of Agentic coding tools.
- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL fundamentals — schema design, query performance, migrations, and a healthy respect for the database as a system of record.
- Experience designing and shipping REST APIs that other teams or external customers depend on — versioning, error handling, and developer experience.
- Comfort across the stack — willing to make small frontend changes (React + TypeScript) when needed, even if frontend isn’t your primary domain.
- AWS familiarity — comfortable with the common managed services (Lambda, RDS, IAM, S3) and basic operational hygiene.
- Strong written communication and ability to take ownership of ambiguous problem spaces.
- Self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
Bonus Points
- Experience with Stripe or other billing/payments providers — subscriptions, webhooks, usage-based pricing, dunning.
- Experience with multi-tenant systems and RBAC — partner orgs, role hierarchies, scoped permissions.
- Stronger frontend chops with React + TypeScript — willing to own a feature end-to-end when it makes sense.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures or message queues.
- Experience with observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics).
- Deeper AWS experience (ECS, Step Functions, EventBridge, etc.).
- Experience contributing to public APIs — versioning strategies, rate limiting, SDK/client considerations.
- Production on-call experience and incident response practice.

- Small, flat, fully remote engineering team.
- High-performing, low-process culture.
