Summary:

The American product company PartsID is looking for a DevOps Engineer who will be fostering a DevOps culture in collaboration with the Engineering and Development teams. This role involves maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our services, and applying best practices in DevOps. The candidate should excel in a team environment and contribute to the collective expertise and goals.

YOU WILL:

  • Design, implement, and support of infrastructure across AWS, RackSpace, Hetzner, treating infrastructure as code for efficient provisioning, configuration management, and deployment.
  • Contribute operational expertise to enhance our DevOps Culture, promoting best practices and collaboration between various teams.
  • Manage provisioning of environments and support development activities.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve system and deployment issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, software, or practices that contribute to overall improvements.
  • Possess working knowledge and a demonstrate level of competency with the application technologies employed within the enterprise solution as well as the functional behaviors of the solution components.
  • Exhibit effective time management, aligning with project schedules and deliverables.
  • Adapt to a dynamic work environment, collaborating with team members across multiple time zones.

 

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Experience in systems administration in a DevOps environment.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with GitLab CI.
  • Experience building and improving of network systems.
  • Good understanding of Load Balancing technologies.
  • Over five (5) years of experience working with Linux systems.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet/Chef/Ansible).
  • Experience with event system RabbitMQ.
  • Strong experience with web servers: Apache, Nginx, etc.
  • Experience working with DBs (MySQL/Percona XtraDB Cluster/MongoDB/Postgre).
  • Experience with languages Bash, Python.
  • Working knowledge of cloud solutions and hosting environment and tools (AWS/RackSpace/Hetzner/DO).
  • Substantial experience troubleshooting application deployments.
  • Good working knowledge of database technologies (MySQL/Galera/mmm_control).
  • Collaboration and project management tools: Perforce, Jira, etc.
  • Effective written communication skills.

 

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Good knowledge of network protocols (ipv6, ipv4, TCP/IP etc.).
  • Good knowledge of network routing (OSPF, BGP).
  • Strong hands-on experience in building VPN tunnels (IPSec, OpenVpn, etc).
  • Experience implementing highly available SaaS solutions (Clusters, Cache systems).
  • Experience with languages Ruby, Perl, Java.
  • 3-5 years systems administration in a software product or service provider environment.
  • Embraces an autonomous working environment providing improvement recommendations to the team.
  • Experience working with development teams to deliver new products and enhancements.
  • Has a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Experience with monitoring platforms such as: New Relic, Zabbix, Nagios.
  • Experience with log analysis: Logstash, Splunk, SIEM, etc.
  • Experience with Agile practices.
  • Good English skills.
