Business Analyst | Remote | Salary up to $4500 

 

Northpointe, d/b/a equivant, is a leader in software that increases the effectiveness and efficiency of agencies in the criminal justice industry, helps agencies improve client outcomes, and reduces risks for the greater community. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team and facilitate the design of innovative and effective software solutions for criminal justice agencies. 

 

Job Description:

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the success of our products and working with cross-functional teams to transform exciting ideas into actionable product requirements. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our customers – pretrial service agencies, jail and prison facilities, specialty courts, and probation and parole agencies – can effectively utilize our software solutions to achieve their goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly analyze assigned ideas and present initial findings to the product team
  • Create product requirements, including use cases, detailed requirements, mockups, and acceptance criteria
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that product requirements meet their expectations 
  • Work with development team leaders to ensure that proposed features cover all technical requirements 
  • Present completed product requirements to the full development team for effort estimation
  • Complete final reviews of completed features to ensure they adequately meet requirements
  • Regularly connect with our internal teams to learn more about our products and how they are used by our customers
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in both product management and the United States criminal justice sector

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven experience (4+ years) as a Business Analyst or similar role in a software development environment
  • Experience in documenting UI workflow and front- and back-end software systems
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
  • Knowledge of product management tools such as JIRA and AHA
  • Familiarity with the full suite of Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Teams and SharePoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Advanced English skills (written and spoken)

 

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • UI/UX design experience
  • Familiarity with API documentation and markup languages (e.g., Swagger)
  • Experience with web portals and/or mobile applications
  • Experience with mission-critical, CRM, or ERP software applications
  • Prior experience or knowledge of the United States criminal justice system
